Because black hair deserves only the best.

Tips to help keep your hair healthy and beautiful between salon visits.

A semi-permanent gloss is a perfect way to experiment with hair color because it only deposits pigments within the cuticle layers so it shampoos out within 6 to 8 washes.  A semi-permanent gloss also adds shine and coats the hair shaft, thus protecting your hair from heat-induced damage.

To keep your hair looking healthy and beautiful, you should trim the ends of your hair about every 6 to 8 weeks, as needed.  If you are trying to grow your hair long, you should only trim about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch every 8 weeks.  Trimming the ends of your hair regularly will help eliminate split-ends and help prevent breakage.

Oils and dirt on unclean hair will cause the flat iron to singe and irreparably damage your tresses, so always make sure that your hair is freshly washed and conditioned before flat ironing or applying any kind of heated tool.  Even touching up your hair with the flat iron the next day after washing is extremely risky and should be avoided.

Towels tend to snag hair, especially curly hair, and can even leave behind annoying lint.  Instead, try using a smooth surface cloth such as a cotton t-shirt, pillowcase, or even boxer shorts.  These alternatives are much safer for your hair, but remember to only blot gently and never vigorously rub your hair and scalp.
