Always keep a hair notebook or journal to keep track of important information about your hair, such as dates and notes about hair appointments, haircuts, treatments, and products. It can also be useful when you have an especially great hair day to note what you did right so that you can repeat the same steps next time.
Ylang ylang essential oil, when applied to the hair and scalp, can nourish hair follicles, add shine, and stimulate hair growth. Mix 6 drops of ylang ylang with 30ml of grapeseed oil for a simple oil mixture that you can apply to your hair ends and scalp.
To make your own leave-in conditioner, mix 1 pint of distilled water with 1 tablespoon of your favorite conditioner and put it in a spray bottle. For aromatherapy and other health benefits, also add 3 to 6 drops of an essential oil such as lavender, rosemary, or ylang ylang to the mixture. Shake well before using.
The best way to prevent your hair from snagging on something (which can cause tangles and split-ends) while you sleep is by piling it on the top of your head in a loose bun or ponytail and then sleeping on a satin pillowcase. For even more protection, you can wrap your hair with a satin or silk scarf.
